Janina Jakobow 1930-2001. 

Born in Poland

Resides in Vancouver, British Columbia Studied at the Academy of Arts in Wroclaw, Poland, and the Academy of Arts in Peking China, where she received her degree with honours in 1958. Worked as instructor in design in Troyan. Bulgaria; Aasa College, Sweden; and lately at Vancouver City College, and Simon Fraser University. British Columbia. Was an art consultant inn Troyan and Sofia, Bulgaria. Her professional experience includes studies in ceramics. Porcelain, mural art, and decorative and architectural design. Received the French Government Grant for Tapestry and Ceramics (1965). Held one-man exhibitions in Peking and Warsaw and participated in group exhibitions in Poland, Bulgaria. Sweden and Canada. Represented in collections in France, West Germany. Sweden. Switzerland and Canada.
