Textile Into 3D opened at October 4 - 21 1973 at the Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery then moved into textile and fibre arts history. It was a revelation to both the artist  and the audience. For the artist who had to expand and experiment with in their media to participate. For the audience whose expectations were surpassed. In speaking with people who had the opportunity to see it there was outrage for the lack of tradition as well as excitement at seeing a new art form as it was emerging from studios in Europe and elsewhere in the world. While this show at the time did not receive the critical attention it should have fibreQUARTERLY hopes that by introducing it to a new audience while reminding the original of the exhibition a new in site can be gained.
