In the province of Quebec Textile and Fibre arts crafts and fashion programs are taught in a number of different institutions. The CEGEP system that some consider just trade schools and as such they not considered as the same type of education being provided in the Fibre department at Concordia. They don't, these programs provide a more in depth technical education that isn't available in the university setting with a focus on an entrepreneurial craft production as well as art making. In Montreal the CEGEP du Vieux-Montréal out sources its Textile Construction program to the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles and Surface design/ dyeing and printing to the CENTRE DESIGN & IMPRESSION TEXTILE Montreal. In Quebec city the Cégep Limoilou teaches its course at la Maison des métiers d’art de Québec.
