The organized lady in me will note, number, organize and create a checklist of things to expect. Then the cowgirl in me will start accumulating things, taking risks, averaging out and especially expecting surprises. I cannot disassociate them neither get away from them, and I love it! Textile Impression allows me to travel from one subject to another, to mix colors and to associate different fibers: versatility is the beauty of this discipline. Each printing paste is different, each fabric has its story: a new fairy tale begins with each initiated project. Daily routines do not frighten me although the “work, eat, sleep” wears me out, I rejoice to the idea of an inflatable palm trees and rubber ducks floating around. I was told once to never stop dreaming so I owe it to myself to leave the light on in my imagination and never turn it off. This way I am sure to offer Technicolor moments filled with laughter, embarrassment and simplicity.

La femme ordonnée note, numérote et organise, voit à toutes les possibilités et les ordonne, mais il y a cette autre femme un peu cowboy qui aime l’accumulation, le risque, les mesures à l’œil et surtout les surprises. Je ne suis pas capable de fuir l’une ou l’autre et j’adore ça! L’impression textile me permet de voyager d’un sujet à un autre, de mélanger les couleurs, de fréquenter différentes fibres, cette discipline à la beauté d’être versatile. Chaque pâte d’impression est différente, chaque tissu a et aura son histoire, c’est un nouveau périple qui s’inscrit quand je m’immisce dans un projet. Le quotidien ne me fait pas peur, cependant le « métro, boulot, dodo » me rend grise et le besoin d’y ajouter des échasses, un palmier gonflable ou bien du canard laqué me réjoui. On m’a dit qu’il ne fallait jamais cesser de rêver, alors je m’offre le droit d’ouvrir ce petit tiroir de l’imagination, de jeter la clé, d’y mettre une pancarte « Ne pas fermer » et d’offrir des moments en technicolor remplis de rire, de maladresse et de simplicité. What’s to come in the future… I’ve recently registered not one but three companies. I’m thinking big and I want to be a part of many different projects, so I need to prepare myself accordingly. Within the next year, I intend to mark my entrance in the fashion industry with my clothing line for men and women called "Mor-O-Kotidien". This line will be homage to breaking the daily routine. I work a neutral canvas adding bright colors merged with crazy graphics, offering the chance to see the world in a silly and absurd fashion. My employer Blank, (www.portezblank.com), will collaborate with me in this adventure; happy to lend a manufacturing hand and helping all along the way. On the other hand the training received in Textile Impressions will allow me to let the Artist in me take over. In fact, I have a project on hold consisted of involving batik techniques and frame printing on a canvas. Nonetheless, I am preparing a mystery project for Fall 2010…  Television Lessons, T-shirt for men,2009, Poly-cotton Interlock, Screen Printed Ce que j’appréhende pour le futur… Je viens tout juste de m’enregistrer non pas une mais trois compagnies! Je vois les choses en grand, je veux toucher à tout alors aussi bien se préparer en conséquence. Dans la prochaine année, j’ai l’intention de faire mon entrée dans le milieu de la mode avec ma ligne de vêtements pour homme et femme du nom de « Mor-O-Kotidien ». Elle se veut être un appel au dégrisage de la routine. Je travaille sur des canevas neutre et j’y vais avec des couleurs éclatantes truffés d’images offrant une vue loufoque voir absurde. Dans cette belle aventure, je fais affaire avec mon employeur, Blank (www.portezblank.com), qui est enchanté d’enrôler sa veste de manufacturier et de m’appuyer dans mes démarches. D’un autre côté, avec la formation que j’ai reçu en impression textile, je compte bien laisser place à mon côté artistique. Du fait même, j’ai un projet en suspend pour des toiles qui allieront batik et impression au cadre. Si ce n’était que de ça, je prépare un autre projet surprise pour automne 2010… Emanuelle Dion, D.E.C en impression textile, Cégep du Vieux-Montréal  Emanuelle Dion at work in the print studio at CENTRE DESIGN & IMPRESSION TEXTILE Montreal My personal world vision is strongly inspired by the elements affected by time, such as found objects covered in rust, and furniture covered in vintage fabrics. My motifs are made up of changing organic forms which have been photographed, drawn, collaged and scanned, resulting in a counteracting of our virtual times by infusing it with the natural and organic. The end result is printed fabric created by multiple layers and dye washes, resulting in accumulating colours and textures. This fabric is made for the abandoned furniture, and this medium allows me to highlight the pieces by working in three-dimensions.

Now that I have perfected my technical skills in fabric creation, I wish to open a furnishing shop with my associate, which will offer made to measure upholstery and textile design services. I will also take part in craft and trade shows, such as the Salon des métiers d’art. Here is my website address: www.Foututissu.com  Booth at the exhibition of graduates in textile printing, 2009 Pour arriver à une vision personnelle du monde qui m’entoure, je m’inspire fortement des éléments que le temps ont travaillé : les objets trouvés, la rouille, les tissus, les meubles... Mes motifs sont la traduction du vieillissement magnifique de la vie par l’utilisation de la photographie, du dessin, du découpage et du scanneur, pour fragmenter le virtuelle de notre ère informatique en le remplissant d’un monde organique. Le résultat donne une sérigraphie texturée aux couches multiples et aux couleurs lavées. Mes motifs sont la recherche constante de textures, d’accumulations et de couleurs. Mon travail est aussi de mettre au goût du jour les tissus et les meubles abandonnés. Le mixage des matières comme l’ameublement, est pour moi, un médium qui permet de mettre en valeur le tissu en le travaillant en trois dimensions. Detail, ottoman pattern: floral Borrow, 2009. Maintenant que ma technique en impression textile est terminé, je souhait continuer foutu tissu avec mon associer et ouvrir une boutique de décoration. Nous offrirons un service de rembourrage et d’impression textile sur mesure. Nous participerons à des foires d’artisans tel que le salon des métiers d’art et le souk@sat.
